Todd's Final Show + Looking Ahead to 2011

It is with a complicated mix of bittersweet emotions to announce that Todd Spitzer, our drummer for the last 3 years, is moving on. The split is more than amicable; we are excited to support Todd as he continues his life on the East coast. Todd has been the drummer for the entirety of the making, release, and touring of Summer Darling, our self-titled record we released in July on Origami Vinyl and will be sorely missed.

2011 finds the remaining members, Dan, Heather, and Ben, working on the next Summer Darling record while we search for a new drummer. The band has the skeletons for 8 new songs, and has already recorded another new song tentatively titled "Hello Liars" (which will be the last SD recording to feature Todd on drums), but hasn't any definitive plans on how or when it will be released. Furthermore, expect the release of more music videos in the first half of 2011. "At the Edge of the Earth" and "Son" have been shot and are in the editing phase while there are plans to shoot as many as three more in the coming months.

Summer Darling will be performing with Todd for the last time at the Hemlock Tavern in San Francisco Friday, December 17th with our dear friends Silian Rail. Todd would like to thank the supporters of Summer Darling and wishes them all the best for this holiday season and the coming year.

Santa Cruz / San Jose / Danville Canceled

It is with deep regret that we announce the cancelation of three shows on our upcoming California tour: Santa Cruz, San Jose, and Danville. An unexpected personal issue has arisen that needs immediate attention. Please forgive the short notice. We hope to return to these cities in 2011.
